Hola fellow makeup enthusiasts! Awhile back, I had the opportunity to try out one of Althea's Beauty Boxes. If you are unaware of what that is, it is basically thematic boxes that are specially curated by Althea elves for all you beauty fanatics out there! The best thing? They are really affordable and each box packs a punch (believe me, you would not be disappointed)! Every month, Althea will release 3 different boxes and they sell out like hot cakes so fastest fingers first! I remembered receiving an email about a new box and within 10 minutes, it was out of stock! So if you are interested, definitely sign up for their mailing list to get immediate notifications once a new box is up on their site. Also, kbeauty fanatics rejoice! Althea currently has an app and you can now shop on the go, anytime & anywhere! Last month, I got to try out one of Althea's Beauty Boxes (All About Eyes) & I was hooked!! Been trying so hard to get my hands on another box to compare their value and I finally managed to get the Glitter Box! Today's post will be a full review on every single product in each box and my thoughts on them so you will know what to expect from their future boxes. ;) All About Eyes - SGD41My first Althea Beauty Box and I was absolutely blown away. At just SGD$41, you get a box filled to the brim with 11 products. The original value is SGD$180 so that is some insane savings of SGD$140! Could not believe it myself until I received the real parcel at my doorstep. Pictured above is 10/11 of the products in the box, my bad for missing out on the warming eye mask in this picture. 🙈 Witch's Pouch Selfie Fix PigmentThe best thing in the box imo! Have never tried anything from Witch's Pouch but it seems like a pretty established brand judging by the number of SKUs carried on Althea's site. The pigment feels buttery and they go on really pigmented on my lids. It kinda resembles gold/pink flakes on your eyelids and it gives a nice glittery effect to your look. As the pigments are tightly pressed, there is little fall-outs during application. Will recommend using this with a natural bristle flat shadow brush as it can pick up more product compared to a synthetic brush. Once you are done, press firmly on the plastic lid provided (not shown) to restore the pigment to its original state! Love!
Etude House Dear Girls Cute Eye MakerPerfect tool if you are looking to create the Korean aegyo sal (puffy eye bags) trend! One end is a shadow while the other is a highlight! I am not a fan of the eye bags trend as I tend to look tired instead of cute therefore I use this product as a nose contour instead! Works amazing so why not?
Yurica Tattoo Eye Brow Guide & Tattoo PenTo be honest, I have no use of the eyebrow stencils but I can see how it helps fellow beauty beginners in mastering the art of brows. It comes in a bunch of sizes and they are transparent so it is much easier to see and position your brow stencils accordingly. It is recommended to be used with the Tattoo Pen if you are just starting out. As for the Tattoo Pen, I love it!! The shade (#03 Dark Brown) is perfect and it dries up faster than my other eyebrow tints. It lasts for about 4-7 days depending on how long you leave it on before peeling it off. Pretty cool product especially if you are a basic makeup girl! The Choute One Kill Lip & Eye RemoverNot the most powerful makeup remover but it is good enough to remove all your eyeshadow and mascara for the day. It comes in a hefty size of 155ml too. I like how it does not leave any oily residue on the lids or strip off your natural oils. Would recommend this for sensitive skin types as it is quite gentle on the skin. Overall, the "All About Eyes" box is quite impressive as the products are all versatile for daily use. Would rate this box a 8/10 as there are some filler products like the eyebrow stencil & lash serum which I am not particularly excited about. When I talk about filler products, I am actually referring to products that are added into the box to "fill it" in terms of quantity. It may not be the most useful product but it does help to make the box value for money. Nonetheless, this box is definitely a steal and I am so happy to have discovered Witch's Pouch and their glitter pigments! Glitter Box - SGD$39Literally jumped for joy when Althea angels delivered my Glitter Box in their limited edition Christmas packaging! How cute is it? I love how Althea spend so much effort to give us the best quality. If you have yet to try shopping at Althea, you will be amazed! Their seasonal boxes are beautiful and ALL their packaging is top-notch. They ensure that everything is packed and delivered safely to your doorstep and it is one of the only few parcels that I have received with the box fully intact without any dents. Huge respect for their commitment into delivering the best service and quality to their customers. Abbamart Brown Smoky PaletteSo obsessed with this packaging!!! Have never heard of Abbamart but their shadows are not too bad at all. They swatch really well and the quality is equivalent to shadows from other well known Korean makeup brands like Etude House or Innisfree. The selection of colours are quite basic for everyday use as they are all neutrals without any massive glitters or metallics. It is a good starter palette for beginners that are venturing into eye shadows. Aritaum Magic Contouring HighlighterA silky smooth highlighter compact that gives a subtle glow to the cheekbones. Works extremely well if you are going for the dewy healthy skin look. This reminds me of MAC's Soft & Gentle but in a less "in your face" kinda highlight. Really enjoy this product and the shade is perfect for fair to medium skin tones. The only downside is the packaging as it is slightly bulky. 🤔 RiRe PigmentsThese pigments are actually chunky metallics in a pot! The glitter reflexs are larger and they are slightly on the rough end compared to the ones from Witch's Pouch. Would like to clarify that there is no discomfort when wearing these and they look divine on the lids as well. It just gives off a different vibe when compared to the ones from Witch's Pouch. Holika Holika Jewel-Light Waterproof EyelinerAnything champagne on the waterline, I am in! The pencil is soft enough for easy application on the waterline and the shade is simply beautiful! White may be a little too harsh for an everyday look therefore I always opt to brighten up my eye-whites using a champagne tone eyeliner on the waterline. Amiok Premium Eye GlowThe shades come in random and there are a total of 5 variations. These are cream shadows with a twist function to mix the product in the tube to prevent it from hardening. Extremely creamy and slightly on the sticky side, I will recommend this as an eyeshadow base instead of an all-over shadow to intensify the look and make it stay the entire day. Innisfree Self Nail StickerWill not lie to you, this is a filler product for me as I have absolute no use for them. Unless you do your nails on a frequent basis and enjoy adding blings or stickers then this will probably stay untouched in your nail polish drawer. Overall, I am very pleased with the Glitter Box and will rate it a 8.5/10. Even though there are lesser products (9 items) for the price of SGD$39, I felt that the products in this box are much more useful for me compared to the All About Eyes Box. However, both are extremely worth the penny and I would still get both in a blink of an eye.
Totally recommend Althea's Beauty Boxes as they are much more substantial. Even for the filler products, some may find it useful and the best thing about everything is that they are all full-sized! Nothing is being compromised which is something I truly appareciate about Althea. If you are interested in learning more about Althea's Beauty Box, you can click here.
