Hola fellow beauty lovers! Living in the 21st century, we can never complete our make up routine without our trusty under eye concealers. These babies are our lifesavers when it comes to faking sleep & helping us look moderately presentable after a hard night of partying. Today, we are going to compare the two highly raved concealers and see which is the better weapon to combat our panda eyes!
I have been an avid user of the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer & Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. Choosing between the two is a pretty tough choice as both have their own pros & cons. I am a MAC NC20 and I use NARS Vanilla & Urban Decay Light Warm.
Off the bat, NARS has a much drier and thicker formula compared to Urban Decay. The drier NARS formula requires immediate blending or it may sink into the fine lines around the eye. The UD concealer has a more lightweight liquid-like consistency thus blending is much easier. The UD one feels more moisturising as well.
Both brands have a wide variety of shade range with NARS having 10 & UD with 11. I am the second lightest for both brands. NARS Vanilla has a pink base whereas the UD Light Warm has a yellow base. This is extremely important when it comes to selecting your undereye concealer as different bases helps to counteract different problems.
A yellow base helps to counteract purple or bluish undereye circles and bring warmth to a cool tone skin. It helps to neutralize and even out the skin tone thus it is a basic concealer shade for most women.
A pink base helps to counteract bluish green under-eyes. If you have veiny like under-eye problems, a pink base will work like a dream for you. Not only does it conceal, it helps to brighten up the area as well thus masking the fatigue from all the late nights.
Between the two shades, I actually prefer NARS Vanilla over Urban Decay's Light Warm as it doubles up as a brightener thus making my eyes look more bright and awake.
NARS has a simple hard doe foot applicator whereas the UD one is much more unique. It is slim on the sides (right photo) and flat on both ends (left photo). The unique applicator helps distribute ample product across the under-eye area thus making it much more efficient and user friendly. I actually prefer the UD applicator with the NARS concealer as it helps in the distribution of the product which makes blending much more easier.
Overall, it is a tough battle between the two concealers. I love how NARS provide a fuller coverage and brightening effect although it has a more difficult blending process. The UD is phenomenal when it comes to blending but the coverage is just not enough for me. I would still repurchase both but I think I gravitate slightly more towards the NARS one as it works like a dream in a humid country.
If you have combination to oily skin, your best bet would be the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. If you are a beginner in make up or just looking for a simple under-eye concealer, the Urban Decay Naked Skin will work magic for you. I would highly recommend the Urban Decay Naked Skin for those of you with dry to normal skin. For me, I love both and I just need 1000 concealers in my life. ;)
