L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1
Brows, brows, brows! Anyone would kill for fleek brows like Cara Delevigne's but unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with a set of beautiful thick arches. Hence, we will have to resort to the easiest way out which is filling them in ourselves. Brows are extremely important as it helps to frame the face and pull the look together. Surprisingly, one of the most asked question that I get regarding makeup is how to perfect em' arches without going overboard.

The common mistake that I spot among people is matching the wrong shade of brows to their hair colour. To clear things up, brows are really easy! If you have light hair, look for something that is one to two shades darker to bring more depth to your face. If you have dark hair, balance it out by going a shade lighter. Simple right?

Trim Your Brows, It's As Easy As 1,2,3!

Now, because we are on the topic of brows, I will be teaching you guys how to trim and shape them to perfection! Say goodbye to weekly visits to your brow therapist, you can now do this yourself at the comfort of your own home. Are you ready? Let's start!
Picture
1. Brush hair in place with spooly.
With any spooly that you have, brush your brow hairs in place. Brush according to the direction of your natural hair growth and make sure that they are neat and tidy.
Picture
2. Mark your arches with a crayon concealer.
I love using a concealer for this step as it doubles up as an eyebrow highlight when you blend it out. Our concealer hero for the day goes to L'Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer (Psst.. it will be launching in September!), a super creamy & pigmented concealer that blends seamlessly into the skin. Marking out the perfect arch is actually really easy. For illustration purposes, because the crayon is too short to show the points on the eyebrows, I will be using the Brow Designer 3-in-1 to show you how to mark your brows below!
Picture
First, with a long object, you can use either an eyeshadow brush or in my case above, an eybrow pencil, place it vertically at the start of your nostril and mark the start of your eyebrows with the concealer. Next, pivot it to the side of your iris. This will mark the position of your arch. Lastly, mark the tail of your brow by angling the tip to the end of your eyes. I like my brows to be slightly longer therefore I will be extending it out a little more. Once you are done, join the dots with the concealer crayon and you will have the perfect brow shape to suit your face.

Personally, I feel that there is no fixed rule to follow. Simply grasp the gist and work according to how you will like your brows to look. For a youthful appearance, I like the base of my brows to be straight. You can customise according to your liking, just keep practicing and you will get there.
Picture
3. Comb hair and trim.
Picture
4. Tweeze/Shave the excess hair.
Once you have your brow shape outlined, use a comb to brush up the hairs above the white border. With a tiny scissors, snip off anything that goes beyond the border.

As for the hairs that are outside of the border, you can choose to either tweeze them or shave them away. I prefer shaving because I cannot deal with the pain of tweezing my eyebrow hairs. My brows are really sensitive so shaving is the way to go for me!
Picture
5. Blend out the concealer.
Once you are done, use a brush or your fingers to blend out the white eyeliner. Viola! Perfect, trimmed brows done in no time. All you need is just a little practice. ;)

Picture
Aside from trimming and shaping your brows, we must not forget to fill them in. Introducing L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1, the new brow staple to my makeup routine. A pencil, powder & brush all encased in one, this versatile Brow Designer 3-in-1 is god sent for frequent travellers like myself.
Picture
I have always been extremely picky with my brow products, I like my brow pencils to be slightly on the harder side but still provide ample pigment without much effort. It is safe to say that the Brow Designer 3-in-1 definitely made the cut! I love that the pencil is stiff enough but yet still glides on seamlessly without effort. There is enough control to create feathery brush strokes for the perfect natural brows.

The Brow Designer 3-in-1 comes with an array of 5 shades to suit your hair colour. No matter what your hair colour is, the Brow Designer 3-in-1 has got you covered.

Shades Available:

Caramel Amber (NEW!)

For a natural look, simply fill it in with the pencil. You can also intensify the look with the powder. I like to do my brows using the combination of both.

Too Dark!
Remember what I said earlier about the most common brow mistake? Matching the wrong colour in comparison with your hair! With my new red hair, I had to bid goodbye to my previous brow shade, Caramel Amber. It was way too light & yellow for me and I needed something of a warm red tone to match my hair. Don't you think I look a little funky with blonde brows and red hair? Grey on the other hand is way too dark. Thankfully, L'Oreal heard our pleas and came up with 3 new shades for this bestseller Brow Designer 3-in-1 and I managed to snag up the perfect shade for my brows.
Picture
Based on my new fiery red hair, Burgundy Brown worked perfectly by being just one tone lighter than my actual hair colour. The new shade, Burgundy Brown, has just the right amount of red undertones to match with my hair without going too overboard. I love how natural it looks and it compliments my skin beautifully.

How To Apply

L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1 is super easy to use and I am going to show you how you can achieve fleek brows without much hassle!
Picture
First, using the spooly edge, comb your brow hairs to neaten them up.
Picture
Next, with the pencil, lightly shape your brows by filling it in with short feathery strokes. I like to start from the centre of my brows and work my way to the tail.

The Brow Designer 3-in-1 is created for people with short and sparse brows. With the pencil and powder duo, you can easily fill in any sparse areas without any difficulty. Since I already have eyebrow embroidery done, I do not face that issue but the Brow Designer 3-in-1 sure did help me to achieve a pair of perfectly groomed brows.
Picture
Now this is my favourite part, it is the powder section! Simply twist the centre portion and you will see this super adorable sponge applicator that is already saturated with the brow powder. It is really pigmented so a little goes a long way. Simply brush it on your brows to fill in the sparse areas. Once you are done, you can go back with the spooly to blend everything out. Simple as that, you can now achieve perfect brows without the hassle of purchasing multiple products.
Picture
BONUS: Makeup is versatile and there are no rules! Another way to use the brow powder is to contour your nose. See how easily it blends out with just my fingers? The brow powder is pigmented enough to create a natural soft looking shadow to enhance the contours of my nose. Talk about killing two birds with one stone, the L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1 is officially a staple in my makeup routine!

Let's Put It To The Test!

Well, one of my biggest pet peeve in brow pencils is how bad it tugs on the skin. Today, we shall put the Brow Designer 3-in-1 to the test and see how it fairs!
Picture
Brand X
Picture
L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1
You know the saying, "a picture speaks a thousand words", well, I am sure this GIF already speaks for itself. The Brow Designer 3-in-1 won hands down. It glides on my hand so smoothly without much force whereas Brand X was a different story on the whole. Even when I applied a substantial amount of force, nothing came out of Brand X. I guess that is a 1-0 for L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1!
Picture
Left: Brand X | Right: L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1
The L'Oreal Brow Designer 3-in-1 is clearly much more pigmented than Brand X. It glided so smoothly, I did not want to stop! Brand X paled in comparison and if you look closely, the line is actually jagged. It kinda resembles your adolescent colouring days whereby the extremely dry crayons are so scratchy on the paper. I am definitely not putting that on my brows!
Picture

I guess it is safe to say that the Brow Designer 3-in-1 does live up to its hype. No wonder it is the bestselling brow product from the brand! Even me myself, who uses at least 3 products on a daily basis to get fleek brows, am impressed by the superb quality & versatility of it. This is an absolute score for whoever that wants to achieve perfect brows on-the-go!

Brow Designer 2-in-1 - SGD$18.90

Picture
For those of you who think that the Brow Designer 3-in-1 is too complicated for your daily life (I highly doubt so though, it's so easy to use!), L'Oreal has got you covered with the Brow Designer 2-in-1, a simple pencil with a spooly end made just for beginners! This 2-in-1 pencil is perfect for filling in and shaping unruly brows. So if you are one of those who have little time to spare, this might be your brow's one trick wonder!
Picture
Available in 2 shades, Light Brown & Dark Brown, the 2-in-1 brow pencil is super pigmented as you can see from the above swatches. The pencil has just the right stiffness to create hair-like strokes to mimic the natural fine hairs of your eyebrows. I also love how easily it glides without any tugging on the eyebrows.
Picture
I love the L'Oreal Brow Designer 2-in-1 for being one of the most super gliding brow pencils in the market. Without much effort, I can easily create perfect full brows that frames my face. The pigmentation is amazing as well and I like how there isn't a wax-like layer on the pencil which may hinder the performance of the styler. However, do note that the Brow Designer 2-in-1, being in pencil form, requires sharpening.

Will highly recommend this to those who are blessed with slightly fuller brows that requires more of shaping than filling in. The L'Oreal Brow Designer 2-in-1 is the perfect styler for those who are more seasoned with filling their eyebrows in using a traditional pencil.

Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen - SGD$21.90

Picture
L'Oreal Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen
Somebody contain me because this literally stole my heart the first time I saw it. I was THIS close to swiping them all into my bag during the cosy dinner spread with the lovely L'Oreal team. One of the hottest lippie launch all the way from the States, the Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen sure lives up to its hype of being one of the most comfortable & pigmented matte crayon in the beauty scene.
Picture
Swatches of Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen
Available in 5 stunning shades, the Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen packs pigmentation like a boss! With a good play of nudes, berry tones and red, there is definitely a shade that you will enjoy. You know me, I love my dusty rose nudes and 102 She's So Matte is literally a dream shade made for me! What is your favourite shade?
Picture
Retractable twist-up function
Encased in a sleek plastic pen packaging that matches the colour of the lippie, finding the Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen in your life bag is definitely something you should not be worried about!

The rounded tip makes application precise and easy. A major plus point goes to how creamy it glides on despite it being a matte lipstick. It comes with a retractable function that does not require sharpening. However, the lippie does not swivel down completely so you may need to be a little careful during your first few uses or you may nick the tip (ultra bummer!).

With a "click" lock cap closure, you can rest assure that your Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen is going to be safe in your purse.
Picture
Just look at how intense the colour payoff is with just one swipe! I was blown away by how stunning the colours were and am impressed by the wearability of the shades. The Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen does not cake up when layered and has a beautiful soft matte finish for the airbrushed look. 104 Game, Set & Matte is the only shade with a hint of shimmer while the rest have a soft matte finish.

To be honest, matte crayons are not my thing as they tend to tug on my lips. However, I had no such issues with the Le Matte Crayon Pens and I was thoroughly impressed by how smoothly it glided on without caking. It does not accentuate your lip lines and they do not feel drying at all. It stays on for about 4-5 hours for me (with eating) and I love how it fades into a nice tint on the lips. Fragrance wise, it smells like a normal lipstick so I have no qualms. Overall, I am absolutely in love with the Le Matte Lip Crayon Pen and I strongly urge you guys to try this! I promise, you will not regret it!
Before we end off, here is a short video showing you how I get fleek brows with the ultra-gliding Brow 3-in-1 @ pouty lips using the super pigmented Le Matte Crayon! You no longer need to worry about matching your brows to your hair or changing up your lip look throughout the day.
