REVIEW: Evanessence - Illumination From Within

We are always on the quest for healthy glowing skin. Some might even spend thousands just to restore youth or attain luminosity in the skin. For those of you who have followed me closely on my Instagram Stories or Snapchat, you would have noticed how radiant my skin looks despite putting it through so much in the sweltering Dubai heat. Lucky for me, I discovered Evanessence right before jetting off and my skin is definitely thankful for how much it has helped me throughout the past week.

Radiant skin can only be achieved slowly for me as I NEVER go to facials. With my terrible history with acne, facials and extractions scare me. Laser treatments from my favourite clinic is the only procedure that I would undergo just to achieve clear, radiant skin. However, with my ultra tight schedules shuffling between work and events, I barely have time to keep up with my monthly visits and let alone take extra time to care for my skin. With Evanessence, I would say, it is a short cut for your daily skin pampering, perfect for all you #girlbosses out there who are always striving for greater heights.

What Is Evanessence?

Evanessence is a daily supplement (just like your daily dose of vitamins) that is specially formulated with natural ingredients for a healthy, well balanced skin. This daily supplement prevents skin damage from free radicals and protects it from UV damage. Chock full of power-pack ingredients which we will be going through later, Evanessence promotes anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and self-healing properties whilst providing skin nourishment. All these benefits are compressed into a pill which is safe to take once daily before bedtime.

Note: For women who are pregnant, nursing or taking anticoagulant medications such as Warfarin, please consult your doctor before use.

Ingredients

Yes, I get you. TMI aka too much information, isn't that what we feel about all labels? Well, that's why you have me to break down everything for you. In a nutshell, Evanessence promotes the following:

Skin Whitening
With the use of Tomato, Liqorice, Melon and Grape Seed Extracts, these antioxidants help to prevent skin damage by limiting the production of free radicals. They also help in increasing the skin's tolerance towards sun exposure but that doesn't mean that you should quit your daily sunblock routine! It is imperative to keep up with your daily sunblock routine to prevent skin damage from the UV rays.

Anti-Ageing
Definitely our favourite property of all skincare; Anti-Ageing! Evanessence consists of a powerful blend of ingredients that would help neutralise free radicals and increase skin elasticity. Ingredients like Pine Bark Extract, Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamin E Acetate play a huge part in this to keep your skin looking youthful and radiant.

Collagen
This is my favourite out of all. I am collagen-anything because I have personally felt the difference in my skin with the introduction of collagen supplements into my diet. Evanessence contains Hydrolysed Fish Collagen (fish collagen are always my preferred selection as I am not too keen in ingesting other animal parts aka sheep's placenta just to be beautiful) that would help restore lustre and suppleness to the skin.

My Experience & Overall Thoughts

Picture
Taking this supplement nightly was an easy habit to grow into. The pill is slightly on the larger side so for those who have swallowing difficulties, you might want to take note of it. A tasteless pill chock full of goodness, I have been taking it religiously every night for a week and my skin seems to be loving it. I have noticed a healthy glow, not those that are achievable by skincare, but one that resonates from within. My face appears fuller, radiant and much more youthful. Lately, I have also been getting more compliments about my glowing complexion too!

For me, I like the holistic approach of this supplement as it provides collagen and skincare benefits to target damage and prevent premature ageing. I am not one to eat 10 different vitamins a day so this definitely saves me a lot of hassle. Even when I was putting my skin through so much damage in the desert heat and dirty hotel pillows, the anti-allergy + anti-inflammatory properties of Evanessence has helped to prevent any acne flareups. This is by far my FIRST trip whereby I did not come back with a face of angry pimples.

Overall, Evanessence seems to be THE beauty supplement that would answer to all our skin problems. Results may vary between each person but now we have another choice of a holistic beauty supplement. Not to be confused as a substitute, it should be taken as a supplement on top of a healthy balanced diet and lifestyle. I will definitely be continuing my Evanessence supplement on top of my laser treatments to maximise the recovery rate and results.
